The costumes for this production were divided into two types: the Peasants and the Nobles.  The Peasants (each played a number of roles) were dressed nearly entirely in solid colors of silk noil to create a soft earthy appearance.  The Nobles, hinted at the social division and extravagance of the Late Georgian era and were clothed in cheap and flashy synthetic novelty fabrics with gaudy colors and textures.

The Peasant's color palette and silhouette was inspired by Breugel's paintings.

Brecht's presence was included as a character in this production.  Brecht "played" many of the  characters including Azdak and the Governor.
