Based on Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, Director of Dance Stella Kane created a deeply moving concept surrounding our inner child and the struggle to reconnect with that inner self.  In this production, the character Avabelle wrestles with seven inner spirits: Thorn (chaos), Akribeia (order), Phobos (primal), Bastet (sensuality), Oogie (joy), Sage (wisdom/grounding), and Twinkle (innocence).  Each represented a group of emotions or motivations. As this production was to be produced under Covid19 Precautions, we were greatly limited in fitting capabilities.  Each of the Wild Thing's headpieces were fabricated by students, and their construction ranged from plush padding to EVA foam, and from wire work to tulle sculpting.
